Michaela has refined her hypnotherapy sessions into a signature two-stage process of excavation and initiation: unearthing old narratives, cutting through resistance, transmuting fear into strength, and awakening our power. Her work is transformative – less “safe space visualization,” more “rise-from-the-ashes rebirth, Valkyrie initiation.”

  • Interview | we start every session gaining an understanding of the presenting problem, conscious understanding of the problem, discuss any noticed changes or discoveries between sessions. First time clients should expect a longer interview period.

    Induction | establishing communication with your unconscious mind (hypnosis). This is done by offering a series of suggestions, until I am confident that you are in the desired, relaxed state.

    Post-induction | continue offering suggestions, this time tailored to the presenting problem to guide the unconscious mind through discovery and resolution. Each session is unique and the unconscious mind is ultimately the driver - it reveals what it wants to reveal. Therapist will continue guiding until there is some form of integration or understanding with the unconscious to learn new behaviours.

    Waking | wake from hypnosis and check in. I will generally avoid analysis of what came up in the session to allow things to continue coming up over the next few hours or days.

  • Whether you want to work on your relationships, money, love, career or any other areas of your life where you feel like you have self-limiting beliefs or self-sabotaging patterns, hypnotherapy is a modality that can help you step into your personal power, and dissolve any blocks that have not reduced through other forms of self reflection or work.

  • Trust your unconscious to guide you. Each session with me is entirely shaped by what glimmers of information your subconscious mind is ready to share with you. Depending on what it shares, and whether it is ready to negotiate a new role, we can start to understand how deep-rooted the concern may be and how many sessions it may take to resolve it.

  • In each session, Michaela will offer her expertise to:

    • negotiate with your unconscious mind to accept a new way of thinking

    • offer suggestions until your unconscious mind accepts them as unconditional

    • build your self-worth, personal power and confidence

    • uncover any subconscious barriers to help overcome resistance

    • find emotional mastery; understand your patterns in order to let go of self-sabotage

    • teach how to solve your own problems going forward (note that once the presenting concern is healed, you should not need to keep coming back for “touch ups” - if the presenting problem returns, it means it has not been completely resolved)

  • Some studies show that 4-6 sessions are the average number of sessions required to create significant change. Other studies state that 12 sessions are the “tipping point” for lasting transformation. I recommend waiting ~1 week in between sessions to allow things to naturally come up between sessions.

    The number of sessions required for YOU will depend on how deep rooted the habit is, how motivated you are to change, how open you are to the experience, and how much work you’re willing to do outside of each session.

    Most habits are produced in childhood and strengthened through experiences as an adult. Depending on your age, habits could be 10+, 20+, 30+ years in the making. The patterns in your brain are so strong and automatic – and therefore will take time and dedication to unlearn the old and learn anew.

    We live in a world of instant gratification. We want immediate results with minimal effort. I want to be very clear that it takes time to see results. Whenever you feel like giving up, ask yourself – how bad do you want to feel good?
